Fu Ren's Pork Ball Soup

Fu Ren is a pretty excellent northern Chinese restaurant with a little bit of middle eastern influence in the Flushing area.   If you’re in the mood for solid Chinese comfort food, this should be one of the first choices you consider.

I love lamp, I meant lamb

2013 and fewd blog is back!  I mean we were never gone in the first place but we did get a little neglectful for the blog.  Bad fewd bloggers!  So here we go our new year dinner.  We went to the original Blue Ribbon in NYC at around 1:30AM, hungry and ready to start the year with a wallet pulverizing meal at one of our favorite places to dine.

smoked salmon with everything bagel and scallion cream cheese

Before Russ & Daughters, I never thought that lox and bagels could possibly taste this good. Imagine thick, multiple layers of oily smoked salmon sliced perfectly, packed between NY style bagels with buttery, smooth cream cheese.

east coast flounder with langoustine, black truffle cauliflower puree, romanesco ($15 supplement)

Cow Cow and I went to this beautiful establishment in the financial district back in January, and I gotta say, it’s probably one of the best meals we’ve had in New York. The restaurant’s website may seem a little dated, however this is a Michelin 2-star restaurant that offers a lot of creativity and balanced flavors by head chef Shaun Hergatt and pastry chef Jennifer Yee.

seafood plateau royale

I keep telling myself that occasional seafood indulgence is totally acceptable and that I should practice this indulgence once every few months to keep my sanity. This time, we took our foodie guest from L.A. to our favorite seafood place in New York and made him pay for the meal. Visitors are always welcome!
