I am not a morning person at all, and this is my first and only breakfast I’ve had since moving to the U.S. Good Morning Mama’s is a cute retro-styled restaurant that is so bright and colorful it will wake you up no matter how hung over you are from the night before.
Last Thanksgiving, we were invited to a special Thanksgiving dinner at my sister’s place in Indianapolis. Chef Connie currently watches over our family’s sushi restaurant called Mikado in Indianapolis. She decided this year to order some super high quality ingredients and cook he family and closest friends in Indy a fantastic meal.
Foie gras cooked in butter with caramelized onions.
noneLocated in downtown Indianapolis off Illinois St. Le Peep is actually a licensed chain of restaurants. Every Le Peep is different in a small way, but I think all the ones in Indiana are owned by the same entity, but I’m not sure so don’t quote me on it. So let’s see what me and my sister had for bfast.
oneWent with a big group to Black Diamond BBQ in Indianapolis. I’m not really a BBQ connoisseur but I know what I like in a BBQ. I like pork ribs and sometimes beef ribs if it’s not too greasy. I also like my ribs to be crunchy on the outside and falling off the bone. I guess I’m also a bbq sauce on the rib type of person too. Having said all this, I think Black Diamond is closest to a Memphis style BBQ. The ribs are served dry and you dip it in a tomato based sauce.
This place is off Binford on the NE side of Indianpolis, right inside of the I465. There’s a nice link on their webpage.
Let’s jump right in.
