Keelung Fried and Grilled stuff stand
Some old pics of the first time I went to the Keelung night market near Taipei. Here is a stand full of fried stuff and not fried stuff that is all grilled and brushed with a sweet base sauce.

Wang Steak - American beef
Wang Steak is famous for its “Chinese style” steaks which are cooked thoroughly and is to be eaten with garlic slices and gravy. Even though I usually like my steak more on the rare side, the well-done Wang Steak was tender and full of flavour. There is a choice of New Zealand and American beef. I’ve tried the New Zealand beef and it was nowhere near as tender as the American. =)
The story behind the legendary Wang Steak goes like this: Wang Yung-Ching, founder of Formosa Plastics, was once the wealthiest person in Taiwan. He was famous for being a polygamist. He had 3 wives and the 3rd wife was the one that invented the Wang Steak, orginally to entertain his guests, and eventually the steak become famous and the recipe was (stolen) by a large restaurant chain. Ok I made up the last part but it may very well be true.

Me and my buddy were craving some Korean Soon Dofu but didn’t want to drive to K-town so we drove to Arcadia taking almost as along. Here’s the location info since they do not have a website:

The place was kind of hidden in a small strip mall. If you’re travelling north on Baldwin, it’s on your left right before Duarte. When you turn in, look for it on the right as it’s nestled inside of the buildings.

Hello world. I’m going to be a nice plankton today and post some delicious pictures for you fewd lovers. These were taken a while back in Sept 2009. I don’t think this Sun Yat Sen restaurant in Taichung has anything to do with Sun Yat Sen himself, they were probably just using his name to get the restaurant noticed. We were told that anyone attempting to enter the premise w/o a reservation will be electric shocked with a taser gun, so plz make a reservation first!
After arriving at the front gate they triple checked our identity and made us walk through a metal detector and finally… we were in!!
