Lucille's Combo Porch Platter aka protein overload

Lucille’s BBQ is similar to a Macaroni Grill but mostly exists in California (There is one in NV and AZ).  It’s a BBQ chain with a lot of good critical acclaim from some of my friends so it was natural to check it out.  By the way, I’m very skeptical of good BBQ in California since I’ve never had BBQ here as good as the Midwest.

Was this delicious? Why yes it was.

Ranchito Torta

So I’ve been dying for good mexican fewd in my area and I know there aren’t too many good places.  I was doing a bit of research on yelp and found this highly rated Torta restaurant.  So I made a trip out to Cook’s Tortas to see what all this hullabaloo was all about.

Yes, way too much carrots.

Sausage and Chicken with pickled carrot overload Vietnamese sandwiches

Those of you in the know, know that Vietnamese sandwiches have been a delicious affordable way to have a meal in the LA area for some time now.  along with Lee’s, Mr. Baguette is one of the early chains to pop up on the east side.  I tend to call these sandwiches Po’ Boys being very similar to the Louisiana fare without the fried goodness…sometimes.  My favorite place is actually Banh Mi My Tho in Alhambra.  This time I wanted to try one of the chains to compare.

Best Nachos Ever???

Al Pastor Nachos

triple cheese burger

Mcdonald’s semi-new Triple Cheese Burger has put a threat on the aging big boss, the Big Mac. The TCB certainly my new favourite and so far I’ve had more than 5 of these already. For merely 57689 calories, you get a burger with 2 slices of chesse dripping down 3 beef patties. The meal (w/ drink and fries) is 115 TWD ($3.59) and 99 TWD ($3.09) for lunch. Yes, Taiwan Mcdonald’s offers discounted meals during lunch time. Very smart I must say. Read the rest of this entry…

Mac Wrap Wrapper

So I was in Taiwan for 3 months, when I got back I found out there were a bunch of new weird things at McDonalds in the States.  My friend told me about the snack wrap so I had to try it.  By the way, Taiwan McDonalds is quite good, so I was expecting something decently tasty.
